Senior Financial Sector Specialist @ Worldbank


Ms.Ratchada has been working as a Senior Financial Sector Specialist at the World Bank Office, Bangkok since 2008. Her major responsibility is monitoring the financial sector development and leading development projects in the South East Asian Region including Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar and Thailand. World Bank’s development projects for the financial sector in these countries aim for long-term economic and financial stability and sustainability. In the past 9 years at the World Bank, she actively participated in several programs in the Finance and Market Global Practice including: the Financial Sector Assessment Program (FSAP), Report on the Observance of Standards and Codes (ROSC) program, corporate governance practices, SME financing, microfinance, financial literacy, financial reporting for financial institutions, insurance, etc. In addition, she has led the development projects to improve Doing Business ranking with the main focus on secured transaction and insolvency regime. She has provided technical input for financial sector development the economic monitor publication and the Country Policy and Institution Assessment (CPIA) program for the above countries. Currently, she has led three development projects; namely (1) Thailand-Secured Transaction and Insolvency Legal Reform Project, (2) Thailand: Advisory Technical Assistance to conduct a guided self-assessment against the full set of Insurance Core Principles (ICP), and (3) Cambodia-Financial Sector Development Programmatic Technical Assistance program. Previously, Ms.Ratchada worked as a Foreign Exchange Dealer for 8 years in a Thai bank and as an operations manager in its Hong Kong Branch for 6 years. Her areas of banking expertise included foreign exchange management, risk management, branch management, asset liability management, compliance, accounting and auditing. Under her responsibility as an operations manager, the branch maintained the second-best CAMEL rating for 6 consecutive years. Besides her formal career in the financial sector, she was a director in the CFA Society Thailand during 2009-2013. As an active member of the CFA Society Thailand, she volunteered to share her Portfolio Management expertise for the CFA Level I candidates and participated in the panel of judges for the CFA Investmen Research Challenge in Thailand for 4 consecutive years.Similarly, she was also an active member of the Hong Kong Society of Financial Analysts (HKSFA). In addition, she is a graduate member of the Thai Institute of Directors (IOD) and active in professional activities with these organizations.
